EATN' THRU THE USA

This Kids Cooking Camp for 9 - 13-year-olds is a triptik to fun and foodie destinations. We're taking an imaginary road trip to some tasty regions of Americana and exploring great “eats and treats” across the USA. Students will stretch their palate beyond the Northwest borders and master cooking basics to fix their new favorite finds at home. Your Culinary itinerary includes: Day One - Pennsylvania Dutch County: Dutch Baby Pancakes, Apple Butter, Sticky Buns; Day Two - N'awlins, Louisiana: Jambalaya, Beignets, Creole Salad, Bananas Foster; Day Three - A Texas Dude Ranch: Potato Bake, BBQ Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, Texas Sheet Cake; Day Four - California Dreamin': Vegetable Gourmet Pizzas, Avocado Soup, Granola, Tapenade. Camp includes four days of classes, apron and instruction notebook. (Note: Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate any student's personal dietary considerations or make menu substitutions.)
Limited Enrollment.
Hands-On Class.
Class Fee: $120

Mon, July 18, 9-11am
CAMPFIRE CHOW

Dora Matthews, Instructor
It's an outdoor cookout when Dora takes students out-of-the kitchen to Bayview's bayfront “campground” for a class over the open fire. Dora's students recreate a camping experience with few kitchen amenities and a lot of creativity (think aluminum foil). They'll fix their entire meal (baked goods included) with a charcoal pit as their only heat source. Planning and safety will be stressed when Dora's kids put together the best picnic ever. PS be prepared to sing…
Hands-on class for 6-8 year olds.
Limited Enrollment.
Class Fee: $25

A IS FOR APPLE
Dora Matthews, Instructor
Dora gives our pint-size chefs some scrumptious snacks using apples, Washington's most touted fruit. Students discover healthier eating habits during some yummy kitchen activities by making Homemade Peanut Butter with fresh Apple Slices, Apple Fruit Rawhides, and an Apple Pizza topped with Caramel. No doubt, a class kids will find very ap-peeling.
